Skiing & Snowboarding

Skiing funx4 – Speikboden, Klausberg and Kronplatz.
You’re probably wondering where number 4 is.

Here is the answer. Right in the village. A small ski lift offers families superlative comfort. Who remembers the days of yore? The first attempts on skis. The excited anticipation of the next slab. The feeling of exhilaration in the belly as you slide down the hill. These childhood memories are never forgotten….
Take your children by the hand and watch the smiles form on your little ones’ faces.

Big hearts will beat faster at Speikboden (about 7 km) and Klausberg (about 12 km). Two nearby ski areas can be easily reached by public ski bus.
Highlight – an almost 7 km long downhill run leads directly from Speikboden to Rio Bianco.

Winter hiking

Weissenbach is a little jewel. Situated off the beaten track, it glitters. Only those who take a closer look discover it. Winter hiking? Nothing could be easier… If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, you can make your way step by step through a snow-covered landscape. Rio Bianco is one of the villages in the Val Pusteria with the most reliable snow conditions. This makes it an ideal starting point for great hikes with or without snowshoes. And if that’s not enough, the whole Valle Aurina and even the Dolomites are only a stone’s throw away.

Tobogganing

Tobogganing is the THING! We are absolutely serious about this. And it is also possible in our beautiful village. The Tristenbach toboggan run is a special experience for young and old.
The 4.5 km long, snow-covered and perfectly groomed natural toboggan run leads through snowy forests to three rustic alpine huts. An experience not to be missed on the bucket list. Also illuminated at night: a perfect way to spend an evening in the company of friends and family.

Climbing adventure

Via ferrata or rope climbing – the Pursteinwand in Campo Tures in the Valle Aurina iis a Mecca for sport climbers. Around 60 routes lead up here, many of them also in several rope lengths.
Climbing is like cross-country skiing in winter. A sport all-rounder – you take the strain off your spine and experience a completely different form of exercise. You also improve your flexibility and strengthen your back, abdominal and arm muscles.
Never done it before? Then give it a try – there’s a first time for everything.
